The Behavior Technician is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: Delivering high-quality, evidence based, one-on-one / direct applied behavior analysis therapy (a form of evidence based therapy for children with autism) as a technician under the direction / supervision of a Behavior Analyst. Assisting the Behavior Analyst and supporting behavior leadership team members in analyzing behavior, developing behavioral planning, implementing behavioral plans or interventions, and monitoring fidelity and/or outcomes.

1. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
2. To ensure appropriate and uninterrupted coverage, all call-ins must be no later than 90 minutes before your first scheduled appointment of the day.
3. Executes ABA therapy programs, acquisition and mastered, as prescribed by the individual’s treatment plan.
4. Implements appropriate teaching strategies (i.e., discrete trial, errorless and error correction procedures, NET, IT, etc.) as prescribed by the individuals treatment plan.
5. Implements appropriate behavior management techniques as prescribed by the individual’s treatment plan.
6. Collaborate with team members to maintain individual/patient, family, and staff safety.
7. Provides and maintains an environment free of emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Reports and incidents or suspicions to Clinical Director, or Executive Director immediately or other BLT member if the first two were not immediately available.
8. Assists individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs)
9. Adheres to diet, supplementation and medication protocols, per parent instructions.
10. Refrains from any unauthorized use of cell phones, internet and email that is not related to Hope Network job duties.
11. Refer parent to appropriate staff member with regards to non-therapy related questions.
12. A willingness to demonstrate behavioral responses on a consistent basis (and be Check listed).
13. Direct implementation of ABA (generally conducting 1:1 ABA therapy during approximately 80-90% of weekly hours worked).
14. Engage in communication and collaboration with Behavior Leadership Team, as well as with the entire Center for Autism team.
15. Address questions with BCBA/BCaBA at beginning of or prior to sessions.
16. Complete documentation and billing in a timely and concise manner.
17. Accurate documentation of ABA data in Catalyst, a tablet-based data collection system. Accurate and timely completion of treatment notes in eCare (electronic medical record), including appropriate patient care documentation and compliance with funder-specific billing procedures.
18. Accurate and reliable data collection, must take real-time data.
19. Complete ancillary assignments as required by supervisor.
20. Monitor and maintain condition and availability of supplies necessary to job (reinforcers, etc.).
21. Collaborate with Behavior Leadership Team to identify areas of improvement.
22. Maintain a safe and fun environment.
23. Utilizes time effectively both when working with an individual and when on prep time.
24. Is flexible with schedule changes.
25. Assures home notes are updated daily with appropriate information.
26. Demonstrates adequate knowledge of basic ABA principles.
27. Assist with training and development of Behavior Techs (if applicable).
28. Completion of assigned projects at the direction of the CFA leadership team.
29. Other duties as assigned.
Educational / Talent Requirements:
1. High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree in ABA or related field is preferred. Individuals who are interested in obtaining a graduate degree in Behavior Analysis or related field are highly preferred. Individuals who wish to gain evidence-based autism therapy experience with an intention of pursuing a non-ABA clinical trajectory are preferred.
2. Meeting requirements for checklists:
a. A Checklist consists of BCBA/BCaBA observing and taking data on the Technician’s behavioral skills, such as implementing a treatment protocol element, responding correctly to target behaviors, and correcting patient errors, to assess treatment fidelity of ABA.
b. Technicians should expect to be routinely check listed by a member of the Behavior Leadership Team (BLT), and understand that checklists may occur with or without their knowledge and without advance notification.
3. Pass the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) exam within six months of hire date.
a. Training will be provided by the Center for Autism.
b. Documentation of initial 40 hours of training as required by the BACB will be provided by the Center for Autism.
c. Competency form will be provided by a BCBA at the Center for Autism once the technician has completed the initial 40 hours of training and demonstrated competence of required skills.
d. Employees can submit for reimbursement of application, exam and renewal fees through the tuition reimbursement program.

4. Computer proficiency required.
5. Experience working with children with autism is preferred, but not required. It is required that you will play, have fun with, be enthusiastic, and deliver evidence-based ABA services to individuals diagnosed with Autism once trained.
6. Positive team player and energetic professional.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
8. Good judgment and creative thinking skills.
9. Strong ability to communicate effectively and follow directives from Behavior Analysts and Qualified Behavioral Health Professional.
10. Discretion in matters that need to remain private.
11. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record per HN corporate policy.
Work Experience Requirements:
1. Due to the unique, rigorous approach of ABA, experience in other settings such as direct care roles in residential or outpatient mental health, K-12 educational settings, childcare, or with indviduals with developmental disabilities, etc., are considered relevant work experience for this role.
2. Work experience under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, which involved serving as a technician or other trainee in an early intensive behavioral intervention program, is not required but is preferred, and candidates with this experience are encouraged to apply.
